CHARLOTTE INDEPENDENT BREWERS ALLIANCE

PROMOTE AND CELEBRATE CLT’S CRAFT COMMUNITY

The Charlotte Independent Brewers Alliance (CIBA) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that works to showcase and improve the quality of beer brewed in Charlotte and the surrounding area, foster communication among the Charlotte area’s breweries, advocate for the promotion of the local brewing community, positively impact local charitable and community organizations and support lobbying for progressive changes in NC laws to benefit the craft brewing industry in the state.

FOR OVER A DECADE,

Charlotte, NC has been home to fantastic, award-winning local breweries and cideries. The homegrown craft producers of the Charlotte area recognize that this heritage and distinction brings with it a significant commitment to our community, the environment, and alcohol responsibility. Through upholding these ideals, Charlotte Independent Brewers Alliance (CIBA) members are positive contributors to the Queen City.

COMMUNITY

Thriving local breweries provide a feeling of community pride and belonging. The CLT region’s homegrown breweries and cideries are vital gathering places, often located in neighborhoods revitalized by their presence. Consistent donors to local non-profits, employers of local craftsmen and more, CIBA members’ locally-produced beverages create a virtuous investment cycle. In fact, over 90 cents of every dollar spent on CIBA beer remains in North Carolina.

RESPONSIBILITY

We all agree that beer, along with cider, can be a better source of connection and enjoyment when consumed responsibly. CIBA members, with the help of Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE), play an active role in public safety by supporting programs that work to prevent underage drinking and impaired driving.

STEWARDSHIP

CIBA’s industry is dependent on natural resources. From stream cleanups to buying materials from sustainable suppliers, CIBA members demonstrate and encourage environmental stewardship in the CLT region that benefits our patrons and employees. Our goal is for #cltbeer to foster environmental responsibility and sustainability for generations to come.

MEET THE BOARD

The CIBA Board of Directors consists of brewery and cidery owners, and leaders in the Charlotte, NC area craft beverage industry. Board terms consist of two years of service to the organization, and Board membership is determined through voting from the greater CIBA membership base.

It’s so important to have connectivity in this ever-changing industry. Knowing I have a network of peers and resources that are a call or click away is a key ingredient to my brewery’s success.

There will always be a place for the local supplier and I’m happy to serve that role! The CIBA is like a family and the relationships I have formed through the alliance are some of my deepest and most established.
